The Women’s Empowerment Expo returns in a big way to the PNC Arena on Saturday, April 13. Presented by Radio One Raleigh, this highly anticipated event will offer everything attendees have come to expect from the region’s largest gathering of women: a dynamic blend of engaging seminars, curated shopping experiences, inspiring speakers and lively music.
We are pleased to announce that pastor, media personality and author Sarah Jakes Roberts will join gospel powerhouses Leandria Johnson and Bobby Storm in this all-star lineup. The evening will close with a special concert by six-time Grammy nominated R&B sensation Tamia and award-winning artist Joe.
General admission tickets include entry to the venue and access to all event activities. Tickets will go on pre-sale on Wednesday, December 27th at 10AM ET. General sales will begin on Friday, December 29th at 10AM ET on Ticketmaster.com.

1. Sarah Jakes Roberts
A pastor, New York Times bestselling author, and media personality known for her powerful sermons, Sarah Jakes Roberts is redefining what it means to be a religious woman today. As co-pastor of ONE | A Potter’s House Church with her husband, Toure Roberts, and assistant pastor of The Potter’s House Dallas, founded by her father, Bishop TD Jakes, Sarah shares her contemporary style and inspiring message with all she meets, encouraging them to be their best selves.
2. Tamia
Tamia is a six-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter whose career spans more than two decades and has cemented her place as a prominent voice in the R&B world. Hits such as “You Put A Move On My Heart,” “Stranger in My House,” “Officially Missing You,” and “So Into You” attest to her unparalleled talent. Tamia made her breakthrough in 1998 with her collaboration with Quincy Jones on Q’s Jook Joint, and subsequently garnered two Grammy nominations for her self-titled debut album. Notably, her duet with Eric Benet, “Spend My Life With You,” won an NAACP Image Award and was nominated for a Grammy. Tamia ventured into diverse musical genres with the release of Beautiful Surprise, which won two Grammy Awards in 2013. In 2014, she signed with Def Jam Recordings and released Love Life in 2015. It became her highest charting album to date, reaching number one on the Billboard R&B charts.
3. Joe
A versatile R&B vocalist with gospel roots, Joe hails from Georgia and later settled in Opelika, Alabama. Raised by pastor parents, he honed his musical skills in the church, playing guitar and directing the choir. Joe’s journey began when he recorded a demo tape with producer Vincent Herbert, signing with Polygram and releasing his debut album, Everything, in 1993. His talent was showcased in subsequent hits such as Don’t Wanna Be a Player. Joe’s platinum album All That I Am (1997) featured the top 5 R&B hit I Wanna Know. In 2000, the multi-platinum album My Name Is Joe followed. Though sales fluctuated, his albums, from Better Days to Signature, consistently made the top 10 on the Billboard R&B charts. Joe continued to have success in the 2010s with albums such as The Good, the Bad, the Sexy (2011), Doubleback: Evolution of R&B (2013) and Bridges (2014). His 12th album, #MyNameIsJoeThomas (2016), featured a diverse array of singles such as “Happy Hour” with Gucci Mane and “Our Anthem,” a cover of the Otis Redding song.
4. Leandria Johnson
American gospel singer Le’Andria Johnson, the daughter of a pastor, began singing in her father’s church at the age of two. In 2010, she won the third season of the gospel singing competition “Sunday Best”. Her debut EP, “The Awakening of Le’Andria Johnson”, spent eight weeks at number one on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart in 2011. Johnson’s song “Jesus” won a Grammy Award for Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance in 2012. She won the gospel music industry’s Stellar Awards for Best New Artist and Best Contemporary Vocalist in 2013. Johnson appears as a guest vocalist on Donald Lawrence & The Tri-City Singers’ 2020 gospel smash hit “Deliver Me (This Is My Exodus)”. She is currently working on her upcoming fifth album. Known for her captivating live performances, Leandria has expanded her musical career and is breaking new ground all over the world.
5. Bobby Storm
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, TRIBL Hip Hop and R&B artist Bobby Storm began her music career as a corporate wedding singer. In 2020, she launched her own #holymix series of inspiring arrangements of popular hits such as Muni Long’s “Hrs and Hrs” and Drake and Future’s “Wait For You,” which garnered attention from fans and the music industry. Influenced by Motown greats from Mariah Carey to Maverick City, Bobby has a promising future with her chart-topping debut single “We Can’t Forget Him,” which garnered 1 million views on YouTube in under three weeks, and two songs featured on Maverick City Music’s album “Maverick Way Complete.” In addition to music, Bobby enjoys watching movies, traveling, photography, journaling, working out, and strengthening her relationship with God. She also listens to various pastors and actively supports organizations like We Are ILL. It’s a cause that is personally meaningful to her as she is a multiple sclerosis survivor herself.
