An immigrant in the United States illegally shot and injured a Texas police officer during a confrontation early Sunday morning, multiple law enforcement sources told Fox News.
The suspect, Jorge Chacón Gutierrez, 25, a Venezuelan national, died in a shootout with San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) officers. It is unclear whether he was killed by officers or committed suicide.
The shooting began after SAPD responded to a domestic violence call around 3 a.m. Sources say SAPD officers found the suspect lying in bed with a rifle.
The suspect opened fire on officers, who returned fire, wounding one female officer during the exchange of gunfire.
