Defense presents new evidence in Darnell “Superchef” Ferguson’s domestic violence case

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Darnell “Super Chef” Ferguson’s attorney has presented new evidence in the ongoing domestic violence case against him, including photos, text messages and court records between Ferguson and his wife.

He is accused of breaking into her apartment while she was sleeping in January last year to drop off their children, and then assaulting, choking and threatening her.

Ferguson’s wife has denied the domestic violence allegations, and in pre-trial conferences the defense argued she did so under oath.

Ferguson’s defense team presented photographs of the couple from the week before the incident, as well as text messages showing Ferguson had the right to enter her home.

After the trial on Monday, Ferguson maintained the charges against him were false.

“Imagine going to a police station and finding out something you’ve never done in your life and being told that’s what you did and then it spreads nationally and then this whole city is indicted. I’m being awarded for everything I’ve done for this community, for everyone in this city. No charges, no searches, nothing in return and this is a thank you? Even if she came out and told the truth and said all these charges are bullshit. Theft? I have a key to the place. No breaking in. Nothing,” Ferguson said.

Another pretrial hearing in the case is scheduled for Aug. 12.
