The Bayer Foundation Women’s Empowerment Awards (WEA) are vibrant awards hosted by the Impact Hub Network that celebrate women entrepreneurs who are leading transformative change.
The award is more than just a recognition; it is about empowering women who are pioneering in the fields of health, nutrition, and related climate change solutions. We are looking for 15 outstanding winners (five per region) to join our six-month accelerator program. Together, the winners will actively shape an inclusive and equitable future for all.

Eligibility criteria The award aims to support women entrepreneurs driving impactful solutions in the Global South, specifically Asia Pacific, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. To be eligible, applicants must offer a solution centered on relevance to health, nutrition and climate-related challenges. In addition, the solution must highlight a social or community impact. Applicants are encouraged to incorporate this focus in their application. Standalone climate-smart solutions will not be accepted. To apply for the Women’s Empowerment Awards, please ensure you meet the following criteria: Women business leaders: applicants must be women in a leadership position ((co-)founder or C-level) in their company. Other leadership positions within the organisation can (and should) be held by men. Have a sustainable business/funding model: organisations of any legal entity type are welcome to apply, as long as they have a strong business mindset and are not reliant on grants/donations/subsidies etc as their only source of income. Provide effective solutions in the areas of health, nutrition and/or climate smart solutions in any sector: This includes but is not limited to food, agriculture and water solutions. Standalone climate smart solutions will not be accepted. Must be related to health and nutrition. Create social or community impact: Solution must (aim to be) accessible to low or middle income communities. Increase in price of product/service before economies of scale are recognised. Have impact in the global south: Business must have impact in low and middle income countries in Africa, Asia Pacific (excluding Australia and New Zealand), Latin America or the Middle East. Business registration in the Southern Hemisphere is preferred. Revenue generating and funded up to US$1 million: Businesses must have annual revenues between US$0 and US$1 million. Strong personal drive and commitment to impact: Applicants must have a strong personal drive and commitment to social impact. Applicants who have had to overcome obstacles in life are preferred.
