SHEIN Donates $430,000 to Dress for Success to Advance Women’s Empowerment

In its latest collaboration, SHEIN pledges to donate $430,000 to six local branches

Deepening its commitment to women’s empowerment efforts, global online fashion and lifestyle retailer SHEIN is expanding its collaboration with the local chapter of Dress for Success (DFS), a non-profit organization that helps women achieve financial independence by providing a support network and access to professional attire and development tools to help women succeed in work and life.

SHEIN will provide $430,000 in funding to a total of six DFS affiliates in the U.S., U.K., Italy and Singapore, establish new relationships with five affiliates in Indianapolis, Chattanooga, Milan, Rome and Singapore, and further strengthen its long-standing collaboration with DFS Greater London.

Funding from SHEIN will support DFS activities, day-to-day operations and special initiatives, including sponsorship of:

Annual “Stepping Out In Style” fundraising dinner and fashion show in Indianapolis, USA; annual “CelebrateHer Gala” event and launch of Professional Women’s Group in Chattanooga, USA; new multi-functional center in Rome, Italy, the first DFS-dedicated facility offering training and support services; expanded outreach activities and office facility renovation to serve beneficiaries in Milan, Italy; curation activities including image makeovers and photo shoots in Singapore; and annual “Power of Women Awards” event in London, UK.

Leonard Lin, SHEIN’s Global Head of Public Relations and General Manager of Singapore, said: “At SHEIN, we recognize the transformative power of fashion as a tool for empowerment and positive change. Our expanded partnership with Dress for Success’ new affiliates and continued strong relationships with our Greater London affiliates reflect our commitment to supporting women who may face barriers to success and creating opportunities for them to reach their full potential. It highlights our shared vision with Dress for Success to provide women with the skills, resources and networks to confidently build their careers and shape their futures. This extended collaboration builds on SHEIN’s existing relationship with DFS Greater London, where SHEIN has provided financial support and clothing donations that have impacted the lives of more than 400 women since 2019. In October 2023, SHEIN also launched a 23-piece capsule collection, “Curve,” in collaboration with DFS Greater London. The collection is made specifically for women in UK sizes 16-24 and features dresses, blazers, jumpsuits, tailored trousers and blouses in a colour palette of berry, black and cream. Financial support to the six DFS affiliates is part of the US$35 million SHEIN has committed in September 2023 to social impact work focused on women, youth and underserved communities.
