KMOP actively supports women’s empowerment
March 8 – International Women’s Day
51% of the Greek population is female. However, women continue to face inequalities and obstacles. These inequalities and Greece’s large gender gap are also illustrated in the latest report by the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE), which ranks Greece 24th out of 27 countries.
These data point to the need to intensify efforts to address gender inequality and promote women’s empowerment.
To this end, KMOP presents four initiatives to strengthen women’s empowerment and promote gender equality.
“Friendly Spaces” for Women and Girls
“Friendly Space for Women and Girls” is an initiative of KMOP that aims to provide a safe environment for dialogue and social activities for women who have experienced various forms of abuse.
The “Safe Space” activities are aimed at women and girls aged 16 and over of different nationalities and will take place on Wednesdays and Fridays (15:00-17:00) at the ELIX Greece office (28/10/20, 2nd floor).
