PROVO, Utah — BYU Athletics and the Big 12 Conference will host a women’s empowerment event on the Marriott Center floor from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, during BYU’s Homecoming Week.
Participation is open to all members of the BYU campus community, including students, faculty and staff.
The event’s focus on women is an extension of BYU’s Homecoming theme this year, “Lean into Light.” Highlighting an opportunity to bring together women from within and outside of BYU and within and outside of our typical circles of influence, this special event has been branded “Lean into Light TogetHER.”
The Big 12 has already held three homecoming collaborations this year with schools from other conferences on women’s empowerment as part of its Be You Women’s Empowerment series, featuring a beauty bar from event sponsor Maybelline, headshot stations, giveaways and a panel discussion with representatives from Sports Illustrated Swim with a special focus on women’s mental health awareness.
BYU Athletics will be adding to the event with a booth showcasing various services, programs and businesses on campus and in the local community.
