Mira Smart Semeshkina, founder of the Dubai-based women’s empowerment community Women’s Empowerment (WE) Council, aimed to “set itself apart” with its second annual WE Convention, held in Dubai on April 20-21, 2024. And that statement certainly rings true when you consider what the conference achieved: more than 100 speakers, 2,000 attendees, 23 sessions on the main stage, 12 roundtable discussions, and 42 one-on-one coaching sessions.
Held at Atlantis The Royal in Dubai under the theme “Big Aims, Bold Choices”, WE Convention 2024 attracted participants from over 75 countries. It was supported by international education platform Lectera.com, TikTok, jewelry house EIRINE, KraftHeinz and private fashion consultancy Better Ask Anna. Entrepreneur Middle East was the ecosystem partner of the event.

“Our goal was to create a valuable platform to learn, find your path, and get inspired, and we achieved it,” said Semeshkina. “We look forward to all participants returning next year to share the amazing things they’ve achieved, and we’d love to welcome you all back on stage, because we are women and we can achieve anything!”
The 23 main stage sessions covered a wide range of topics, from women’s leadership to artificial intelligence, financial independence to the metaverse, career advice to personal branding and style. In addition, 12 50-minute roundtable discussions addressed pressing business and societal issues, allowing attendees to delve deeper into their areas of interest, hone their skills, explore new avenues of development and express their creativity.

The Mentoring Zone featured a total of 42 one-on-one coaching sessions with industry experts run by Female Factor, a global community for future women leaders. Additionally, a wellbeing pit stop was organised at Serenity Corner by Whispers of Serenity Clinic, Oman, providing a space to rest, recharge and prepare for new opportunities.
