There are spaces available for a UN webinar promoting gender equality in the business world.
The “Women’s Empowerment Principles” webinar, hosted by Imani Duncan-Price, a consultant at the UN Women’s Multilateral Office, is running from now until Thursday.
It is run in partnership with the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation and the Ministry of Youth, Social Development and Senior Citizens.
The WEP is a set of guidelines established by UN Women and the UN Global Compact to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace, the marketplace and the community, providing a guiding framework for all companies, regardless of size, sector or geography, on how to empower women in these areas.
This training opportunity is available to financial institutions, service providers, corporations and government partners.
“The WEPS training program is a transformative initiative that will enable businesses and communities to improve their performance, attract and retain top talent, and foster a more inclusive economy for sustained growth,” said Minister of Youth, Social Development and Senior Citizens, Tiny Furbert.
She said the Government of India in collaboration with BEDC, UN Women and the United Nations is committed to promoting gender equality and creating opportunities for all.
“I encourage all business professionals and community workers to register for the virtual training sessions on Women’s Empowerment Principles 101 and the Gender Gap Analysis Tool for Business Growth in Bermuda,” she said. “Together, we can build a more equitable and prosperous future.”
