Florence Crittenton Programs of South Carolina (FCP-SC) is proud to announce the appointment of three new Directors and one new Operations Manager, who come from diverse backgrounds and share a shared passion for our mission to support and empower women, children, and families in our community.
Rachel Brown is a dedicated professional who is passionate about empowering young mothers and promoting community development. With a bachelor’s, master’s and currently pursuing a PhD in Public Administration, Brown has a strong track record in government contracting and focuses on research and development for innovation and economic growth. Through her volunteer work with Be a Mentor and Florence Crittenton, Rachel supports young mothers, reflecting her tenacity and dedication to community impact.
Kevin Dougherty has an extensive service history in the U.S. Army, higher education and the nonprofit sector. A historian and author of books on local history, Dougherty and his wife, Rhonda, are active members of the First Baptist Church of Charleston. He has a strong connection to Florence Crittenton, whose adopted daughter is a success story for the organization.
Kristen Frye joins the Board with extensive business development experience, including working for FedEx in multiple states and launching three offices for City Wide Facility Solutions in Charleston. Currently with Roots Property Services, Kristen has been an avid supporter of women, children and family welfare organizations since 2005 and has been actively involved with Florence Crittenton since 2019.
In addition to our new executives, we are excited to welcome Jill Almirall as our new Operations Manager. Jill Almirall comes to FCP with 20 years of experience in business management and marketing. She specializes in streamlining operations, developing communications, creating processes, and managing projects. Almirall’s passion for Florence Crittenton’s mission comes from her personal experiences and her drive to help young women on their path to independence. She graduated from Colorado State University’s School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration. A Colorado native, Almirall loves spending time with her husband and daughters, trying new foods, walking her dog on the beach, traveling, and exploring the beauty and history of Charleston.
